Is regular maintenance of car safety features really worth it?
My car's getting up there in mileage, and I'm starting to wonder if I should be paying extra attention to maintaining all the fancy safety features it has. I mean, regular oil changes and tire rotations are a no-brainer, but what about things like the lane departure warning or the automatic emergency braking? Are those things that need regular check-ups to make sure they're working properly? And if so, is it really worth the cost to keep them tip-top? What's everyone else's experience with this? Do these things even degrade over time?

That is a really valid question. Keeping your car's safety systems in good shape is definitely important, I think. For my older car, I was even looking into an advanced driver assistance system bristol to help manage blind spots better. It might give you some peace of mind to have a professional check those features periodically,. Consider that if those features fail when you need them most, it could be a much bigger problem. Maybe it's worth comparing the cost of maintenance to the potential cost of an accident where those systems could have helped. So, I'd say it's worth it in the long run to get things checked!
