HOW YOUR DONATION HELPS THE DOGS

Every dollar you donate to Northern Lakes Rescue is making sure we can provide the necessary care for any DOG Breed in need of re-homing and a second chance at loving. We are a 501(c) (3) organization so all monetary donations are tax deductible to the extent that IRS allows.

For every dollar donated, 93 cents go towards the cost of care for the dogs we have in foster homes. From the basics like vaccinations and medications, to specialty surgery for those like Sabrina, who came to us with Megaesophagus. The remaining 7 cents of every dollar goes towards generating future funding needs and operating expenses.

Northern Lakes Rescue is a community of supporters and volunteers passionate about making a difference in the lives of DOGS in need and keeping them out of harm’s way. The dogs come to us for various reasons including but not limited to being a stray that was left at a shelter or changes in their owner’s life that resulted in the dog being surrendered. Whatever the reason, we take the dogs in with dignity and no judgement as after all, it’s all about the dogs.

Thank you so much for being part of it!
Matching Employer Programs:
Many employers have Matching Gift programs which would double your donation
Donations in Memoriam:
A donor may wish to make a gift in memoriam of a family member, valued friend, or pet.

Direct Gift of Appreciated Securities:
This method conserves the donor’s cash while helping to avoid capital gains tax on the sale of appreciated securities. The market value of the securities is deductible in the current year’s tax return. The donor should consult with their tax advisor.
Direct Gifts of Life Insurance:
If you have a life insurance policy that is no longer required, transferring the policy to the Northern Lakes Rescue may provide benefits to both Northern Lakes Rescue and the donor. The Trust would ultimately collect the policy value and the donor may be entitled to an income tax deduction in the amount of the policy’s value. The donor should consult with their tax advisor.

Wills:
The donor may list Northern Lakes Rescue as a beneficiary in their will. The distribution of the estate is then made at the donor’s request.
